The SASS April Club meeting is just around the corner. We’ve got some great prizes lined
up for this month’s raffle – I mean REALLY good prizes!!! We’ve got almost $1500.00
worth of stuff to raffle. PLEASE tell all your flying buddies to come join us! Meeting Location: Bothell Police Department Date: April 13, 7-9pm!
 • Everyone who shows will get one ticket. • You also receive one ticket for any show and tell item. • We will sell additional tickets just before the drawing.

JR/Horizon Hobbies graciously donated a Radian electric assist glider to be raffled off at the March 2010 meeting of the Seattle Area Soaring Society. In addition to club members, SASS meetings are open to anyone with an interest in remote control soaring. Raffle tickets were given to all of those that attended the meeting. Additionally, tickets were given out to whoever brought a “show and tell” item or gave a presentation. Several new folks interested in joining ASS were in attendance. The winner of the raffle, Darold Lobb, had this to say:
“SASS recently raffled off a Radian electric powered glider and I was
fortunate enough to have thewinning ticket. I never win anything
so that was exciting. Gliders have a way of attracting kids and
they always want to know if they can fly it. Now I have a glider that
I am comfortable letting the neighborhood kids fly. Thanks to JR/Horizon
Hobbies and SASS for the opportunity to add this great glider to my hanger.”  |

KILLER MEETING, SUPER PRESENTATION At the bullet-proof, glassed-in front desk of the Bothell Police Station, the most angelically beautiful young woman I’ve seen in a long time is buying her nine-month old a gun permit. She has him sitting on the stainless counter. I say, “I see you’re buying him a gun permit.” She glances at me in distain, and turns away with a look that lets me know she has instantly appraised me as poster child for Modern Immaturity Magazine. It is good to know not all young persons are out of touch with reality. I go into the meeting room, where there are forty other geezer geeks who would also qualify. If we can be grown-up infantile guys (and two gals) who play with toy airplanes, it makes perfect sense that toddlers should get gun permits. Somebody has to be responsible. |
